For starters, the title of this poem is not really "The Queen from Manila". I just had to put a title there and didn't know what else to use since the author didn't post a title herself. As for the author, it's our very own Queen of Poetry: Amal Algahmi! :D Amal wrote a hilarious and very witty limerick in the fall of 2009, which she says was her "limerick phase". I thought it was so amazing that I had to share it on our blog! It's great to see LEP members writing their own poetry. And now, without further ado, Amal's limerick:
There was a young queen from Manila
who demanded a furry chinchilla;
but at the last second,
her pet-buyer she beckoned,
and asked him instead for Godzilla.
How fantastic! :D I have to say though, I'd probably prefer a chinchilla over Godzilla...
